As part of the business component of this accounting and business double degree, you have the opportunity to design your studies according to what interests you. Through several different study options, including majors, minors and electives, you will choose a specialty and become a master of your field.
The Bachelor of Accounting/Bachelor of Business is delivered in Melbourne, and is predominantly taught through blended learning, encompassing both classroom teaching and online learning.
Throughout your study you will experience a range of teaching methods, all designed to help you become an independent learner.
You may learn through guest lectures, discussions and online discussions, tutorials, class presentations, research projects, analysing and responding to case studies, preparing and responding to briefs, and more. In both classroom and online formats, you are encouraged to ask questions, seek feedback, contribute to class discussions, and apply theory to practice.
Your assessment throughout the Bachelor of Accounting/Bachelor of Business may be either research or problem based, and set as either team or individual projects. You may be required to undertake oral exams, presentations, in-class assessments, as well as other assessment methods relevant to your subject.
The Bachelor of Accounting/Bachelor of Business is closely linked to industry. This takes various forms.
In the curriculum of this accounting and business double degree, some subjects are designed as work integrated learning (WIL) subjects involving discipline related industry projects as part of learning.

Throughout the Bachelor of Accounting/Bachelor of Business, you will be given the opportunity to specialise in subjects that cater to your interests and lead you toward your desired career.
As part of your business double degree, you will have the option to complete a business major and a range of business and university electives, one or two business minors and a range of business and university electives, or to simply complete multiple business and university elective subjects to give you a wide range of skills across multiple disciplines.
In your first year of study, you must complete eight core subjects spanning business, accounting and law. You will explore the role of business in society, the use of accounting within organisations, and both financial and economic analysis.
In your second year, you will complete six core subjects that further your knowledge of data analytics, company and finance law, advisory finance, and taxation. You will also choose two subjects from your area of specialisation.
In your third year, you will complete three core accounting subjects and up to five subjects from your preferred specialisation.
In your fourth and final year of study, you will complete two core subjects, including one that allows you to build a graduate folio to help you begin your career.
In addition to your folio, you will also complete up to six subjects from your specialisation.
